The heist happened around 7:10 p.m. on July 6, at Alo's 800 Boylston Street location inside the Prudential Center. That is the same mall Mass Daily News has now reported on for shoplifting so many times it may need its own dedicated MDN section. Per the BPD community alert, one woman wore a white sweatshirt, jeans, and white shoes and carried a black tote bag. The other wore white jeans, a white top, and a dark sweater. Both are described as Black females.

For anyone counting, this is the second known grab-and-run at the Prudential Alo in ten weeks. The prior heist, reported by BPD in May, starred a trio of thieves who reportedly cleared an entire section of the store, leaving twenty empty hangers where merchandise used to be. That trio is still at large. Boston police, meanwhile, keep releasing photos.

The Prudential Center is Boston's most publicly-photographed retail-theft location, and it is not particularly close. Mass Daily News's own coverage of the mall in just the past twelve months includes a $2,000 parka grab that ended with the thief bolting out onto Boylston Street, a Canada Goose walkout so brazen cops had to beg for public help, a serial shoplifter arrested near the mall carrying seven active warrants, a three-shoplifters-in-one-hour bust that turned up fentanyl, crack, and a cop assault, and, memorably, a man who got punched inside the mall by another shopper who then made off with his headphones. Add the two Alo raids and the receipts are getting long.
