BACK BAY—Three brazen broads strolled into a luxury athleisure store in the heart of Boston's Back Bay, snatched up armfuls of pricey gear, and bolted — leaving roughly 20 empty hangers swinging in their wake, cops said.
The leggings-loving larcenists hit the Alo store inside the Prudential Center on Boylston Street around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 — making off with a haul of high-end clothing valued at an undisclosed sum, according to Boston Police.
Surveillance shows the trio — all described as Black women between 18 and 20 — calmly picking through the racks before strutting out the door with the goods, police said.
One suspect rocked a blue hat with a black sweatshirt and black pants.

Another, of medium-to-heavy build, was decked head-to-toe in black, including a sweatshirt with a white design splashed across the back.

A mall under siege

It's just the latest brazen heist at the upscale mall, which has become a hot spot for smash-and-grab crews. In February, two thieves walked out of the Prudential's Canada Goose store with armloads of luxury winter coats — also prompting a public plea from baffled cops.
It's a pattern. MDN has previously reported on three shoplifters busted in a single hour at the Prudential Center, with one of them carrying fentanyl and crack. A serial Back Bay shoplifter with seven active warrants was scooped up near the Prudential. The area's Lululemon has been hit twice in 40 minutes, robbed by a 15-person mob in a single hour, and hit by a crew that drove up from the Bronx. MDN has even reported on what is now Boston's most looted store getting hit again — this time by a thief in designer gear.
