SOUTHBOROUGH — The state's top Democrat is in a police log.
Mass Daily News has learned that Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair Steve Kerrigan of Lancaster was busted for drunk driving at midnight on Saturday, June 13, in Southborough, per Southborough police.
The arrest, incident #26-10295, went down on Turnpike Road. Kerrigan was booked on three charges:

The Southborough log lists Kerrigan's address on Neck Road in Lancaster, matching his address on file with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance.
Kerrigan, 54, has led the Massachusetts Democratic Party since April 2023 and also chairs the Lancaster Select Board. Before that: Chief of Staff to Massachusetts Attorney General Tom Reilly, CEO of the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and President of the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee. He also sits on the board of Reproductive Freedom for All and co-founded the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund.
The arrest happened more than a month ago. The Massachusetts Democratic Party has not publicly acknowledged it. The mainstream press has not covered it.
Mass Daily News has reached out to the Massachusetts Democratic Party for comment on the arrest, on when the party first became aware of it, and on whether Kerrigan intends to continue serving as party chair and as chair of the Lancaster Select Board while the OUI case is pending. This story will be updated with any response the party provides.
