HYANNIS — ICE Boston hauled a Jamaican illegal immigrant off the streets of Hyannis this week — a man with a prior domestic-violence conviction who is now awaiting trial on three counts of rape.
The Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston field office announced the arrest of Altiman Peterkin on X Tuesday morning. Agents took him into custody during targeted operations on Cape Cod, according to the agency.

Peterkin's criminal history includes a conviction for assault and battery on a family or household member, ICE Boston said. He has been arraigned on three counts of rape.
The agency did not disclose the date or venue of the arraignment, or whether Peterkin was in the community awaiting trial when ICE picked him up. The agency's post trailed off mid-sentence after listing the rape charges, suggesting additional charges may exist that were not enumerated.

ICE Boston keeps working Cape Cod

The Peterkin arrest is the latest in a series of ICE Boston targeted operations across Massachusetts, including recent takedowns in Brockton, Lawrence and Boston. The Cape Cod pickup pushes ICE Boston's enforcement footprint into a region that has, in recent months, seen an uptick in illegal-immigration-related arrests as the agency ramps up nationally.
Peterkin is now in federal custody pending removal proceedings.
