BOSTON — MBTA Transit Police are asking riders to help identify a man they say is a person of interest in an early-morning knife assault at the Charles/MGH Red Line station.
The department released the man's photo on X Saturday, saying the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — a knife — was reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 11 at the Beacon Hill stop.

The Red Line stop sits at the foot of Beacon Hill, adjacent to Massachusetts General Hospital, and handles a heavy mix of medical staff, tourists, and downtown commuters through the morning rush. Two escalators and an elevator connect the elevated platform to Cambridge Street below.
MBTA Transit Police have not released the victim's condition, additional details about how the incident unfolded, or any description of the person of interest beyond the released photograph. No arrests have been announced.
