BOSTON — Boston Police are asking for the public's help identifying two suspects — one in a red top, one on a moped — who fired three rounds on Blue Hill Avenue in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, July 5, on the same overnight that turned the city into a warzone.
At 4:22 a.m., the individual in the red top pulled a firearm at 783 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester and fired three shots in the direction of an unknown victim, according to the Boston Police Department. He and a second suspect then fled the scene on a moped, traveling outbound on Blue Hill Avenue before turning left onto Harvard Street.
Boston Police released four surveillance stills of the two suspects Thursday, five days after the shooting. One image was captured at a Mobil gas station.

The 4:22 a.m. Blue Hill Avenue shooting came at the tail end of an overnight that MDN reported turned Boston into a warzone. Between 11:54 p.m. Saturday and just after 4 a.m. Sunday, Boston Police were called to five separate shooting scenes across Roxbury and Dorchester. Thirteen people were shot. Two were killed.
The scenes:
  • 11:54 p.m. Saturday — 13 Fayston Street, Roxbury (one shot)
  • 12:36 a.m. Sunday — 24 Horadan Way, Roxbury (one shot)
  • 12:36 a.m. Sunday — 500 Blue Hill Avenue, Roxbury (four shot, one killed)
  • 1:56 a.m. Sunday — 71 Draper Street, Dorchester (one shot)
  • 3:14 a.m. Sunday — 120 George Street, Roxbury (six shot, one killed)
Sixteen minutes after the last of those hospitalizations, the moped-riding pair opened fire on Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester — roughly a mile and a half south of the 500 Blue Hill Avenue scene, near the Franklin Park side. No victim from the 4:22 a.m. shooting has been publicly identified.
