BOSTON — Three adults were rushed to area hospitals Sunday evening after gunfire erupted on West Newton Street in Boston's South End — feet from the playground at O'Day Park — and the gunmen vanished into the night.
Boston police arrived at 88 West Newton Street around 7:38 p.m. on June 14 to find three wounded, one with injuries initially described as life-threatening, NBC Boston reported.
All three are now listed in stable condition and are expected to survive.

The shooting unfolded across the street from O'Day Park, a small Washington Street playground tucked between West Newton and Concord.
Homicide detectives took over the scene Sunday evening and are leading the investigation. Police have released no description of the gunmen, no motive, and no arrests.
Mayor Michelle Wu has repeatedly billed Boston as "the safest major city in the nation," though a GBH News analysis found several U.S. cities, including San Francisco and El Paso, with lower per capita homicide rates.
This is a developing story.
