They were too stunned to stay.
By the time MBTA Transit Police boarded the bus at Massachusetts Avenue and Harrison Avenue in the South End around 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, many of the witnesses had already fled — too rattled to stick around for statements, the department said.
The man himself stayed put. Officers ran his name. Out came 14 active warrants.
It wasn't his first run-in. Transit police describe him as a repeat offender whose prior charges include assault and battery, shoplifting, trespassing, possession of a Class B substance — and indecent exposure.
He was transported to MBTA Transit Police headquarters following the arrest. His name has not been publicly released.
