District A-1 officers monitoring BPD camera feeds spotted the pair opening packages on Snow Hill Street, then tracked them to DeFilippo Playground after bystanders pointed them out.

BOSTON — Boston Police arrested two 15-year-olds in the North End on Tuesday after department surveillance cameras caught the pair opening packages and discarding empty boxes on Snow Hill Street.
District A-1 (Downtown) officers were monitoring BPD camera feeds at around 5:28 p.m. when they spotted two males near Snow Hill Street tearing open packages, the department said. A photograph and description of the suspects went out to responding units; officers tracked them down to a group of juveniles gathered at DeFilippo Playground, 135 Prince Street.
Bystanders at the playground pointed out members of the group as the ones responsible for the thefts, BPD said. Officers placed two 15-year-olds under arrest.

What officers recovered

According to the department, officers recovered:
  • Clothing
  • A digital camera and a battery charger
  • Assorted household goods
The recovered items belonged to three separate victims.

What's next

Both teens were charged with three counts of Larceny from a Building and released to their parents. They are scheduled for arraignment in Boston Juvenile Court.
