BOSTON — Two masked teenagers held up a kids' lemonade stand at gunpoint in South Boston on Wednesday afternoon, taking the cash box from an 11-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother before fleeing on foot, Boston Police and the children's father said.
The robbery happened just before 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at 157 West 9th Street in South Boston, per Boston 25 News. According to the Boston Police account, the suspects made several passes by the stand before walking up and asking the kids whether the stand accepted Apple Pay as payment. Before the children could answer, one suspect grabbed the cash box. The other displayed a black firearm tucked in his waistband, BPD said. Both took off west down West 9th Street toward Dorchester Street.
"My kids immediately just put their hands up and said 'take whatever you want,'" the children's father told CBS Boston. The cash box was later found a short distance away, with the money gone.

'Disgusted'

The kids were not hurt but were shaken up. Their father did not hold back.
"I'm pretty disgusted with it. They're young children. They're 11 and 12 years old. It was in the middle of broad daylight," he said. "It's outrageous that in such a good community that we can have something like this happen."

The investigation

Boston Police have made no arrests and the investigation is active. The suspects were described only as two masked teenagers — one with a black firearm tucked in his waistband. Anyone with information is asked to contact Boston Police District C-6, which covers South Boston.
This is a developing story.
