EAST BOSTON — Boston police launched a search Friday night for a 12-year-old boy who left his Bremen Street home and is "known to walk around with a gun on him," according to scanner reports from a widely followed Boston public-safety account.
The be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) alert went out around 9:54 p.m., per @StacoS, the scanner-traffic account that tracks BPD radio calls and has a steady following among reporters, first responders, and neighborhood watchers.

According to the scanner post, the 12-year-old left his home on Bremen Street in East Boston late Friday and was last seen wearing a gray "JAWS" shirt with a shark logo. The post said the child "got ppl in Roslindale, could be headed that way," and that BPD units were "checking all the usual spots."
The "walk around with a gun" descriptor is from the scanner account's relay of the BPD radio call. MDN has not independently confirmed the BOLO with the Boston Police Department or established whether the child was armed when he left his home.
This is a developing story.
