Jonatthan Vasquez-Garcia faces pending charges for indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and delivering obscene material to a minor, ICE Boston said Thursday.

WALTHAM — A Guatemalan illegal immigrant with pending charges for indecent assault on a child under 14 was arrested by federal immigration agents in Waltham on Thursday, ICE Boston said.
Jonatthan Vasquez-Garcia was picked up during what the agency described as "targeted operations." His criminal record also includes a pending charge for delivering obscene material to a minor, the agency said.

The arrest was disclosed on the Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston account on X.
Enforcement and Removal Operations is the ICE component that handles arrest, detention, and deportation of illegal immigrants. Its Boston field office covers all of New England.
ICE has not released additional detail about the underlying state case — including when the charges were filed, in which court, or whether Vasquez-Garcia had been arraigned. The charges remain pending and have not been adjudicated.
