ICE Boston says the man's criminal history includes arrests for rape of a child with force, two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and witness intimidation.

BOSTON — ICE Boston has another accused child rapist in custody — a Guatemalan illegal immigrant whose alleged history includes raping a child with force, two counts of aggravated rape of a child, and intimidating the witnesses afterward.
Gumercindo Lopez is in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, the agency announced Wednesday morning.
According to ICE, Lopez's criminal history includes arrests for:
  • Rape of a child with force
  • Aggravated rape of a child with a five-year age difference between attacker and victim
  • Aggravated rape of a child with a ten-year age difference between attacker and victim
  • Witness intimidation

ICE Boston's follow-up was blunt.
"ICE Boston continues to prioritize arresting dangerous criminal aliens who commit vile crimes against the most innocent victims," the agency said.

Welcome to Maura Healey's Massachusetts

State and local police, hamstrung by Healey's sanctuary policies and the pending PROTECT Act advancing on Beacon Hill, do not proactively cooperate with federal immigration enforcement to keep accused child rapists like Lopez out of Massachusetts communities.
ICE got him. The sanctuary state didn't.
