EAST BOSTON — A routine stop at a Mobil gas station turned into a wallet snatch and a sidewalk beatdown Thursday night, after a group of roughly five teen girls allegedly swarmed a woman, lifted her wallet, and kicked her to the ground when she tried to take it back, according to Boston Police.
Officers from District A-7 responded to a call about a person with a knife near 5 Falcon Street around 8:54 p.m. on May 7. The victim, visibly shaken, told officers she had just parked at the Mobil and walked inside the store when she noticed the group already arguing with the clerk.
Then the girls turned their attention to her.
One of the suspects allegedly grabbed her wallet, and the entire group fled on foot. The victim chased them — catching up near 425 Border Street a few blocks away. That is when, according to police, one of the suspects got physical, shoving the victim to the ground and kicking her multiple times as the two struggled over the wallet.

She got the wallet back. The cash inside it was gone. The group disappeared into the apartment building at 425 Border Street.
Backup officers were given photos of the suspects. As they approached the building, they spotted a group of juveniles peering down from a second-floor window. At the apartment door, they were met by an adult woman and a juvenile boy who insisted they were home alone.
They weren't.
After being given permission to search, officers found six more juveniles inside. Two were identified as the suspects: the girl who allegedly snatched the wallet, and the one who allegedly assaulted the victim on Border Street. The first surrendered without issue. The second did not.
According to police, the second suspect violently resisted arrest — kicking, screaming, and refusing to get up off the floor — disturbing several residents of the building before officers finally took her into custody.
A 14-year-old girl from Mattapan was charged with unarmed robbery. A 16-year-old girl from Dorchester faces unarmed robbery, unarmed assault to rob, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct charges. Both are expected to be arraigned in Chelsea Juvenile Court.
The remaining juveniles in the apartment were identified and released from the scene.
