EVERETT — A puppy with a pink collar was found hiding under a dumpster in Everett's industrial area near Encore Boston Harbor on Monday after roaming the area for days. Nobody had come looking for her.
The black-and-white pup had been spotted near the casino, the bike path, and behind the Home Depot and Costco for multiple days before a good Samaritan saw her squeeze under a dumpster and stayed with her until animal control arrived.
Everett ACO Stacia Gorgone responded, but the puppy wasn't having it. She came out briefly for food, then wedged herself right back under.

Off-duty Revere ACO Tony Masiello and Somerville ACO Rachel Taylor both showed up on their own time to help. Three towns, three ACOs, nobody on the clock — all to get one puppy out from under a dumpster.

They got her out, scanned her for a chip, and took her to get checked. She's wearing a new pink collar — so someone owned her at some point — but Everett has received zero calls from anyone looking for her.
The original post from Everett Animal Control drew over 1,200 reactions. One commenter offered to foster her. Another wrote: "Poor baby, she doesn't deserve to go back to the owner. Find her a new home that will love her."
If anyone recognizes this puppy or knows who she belongs to, contact Everett Police Dispatch at 617-387-1212 or email ACO Stacia Gorgone at [email protected].
