BOSTON — Two men allegedly walked into the Macy's at 450 Washington Street, picked up four Versace gift sets, and walked right back out — heading straight for the Orange Line entrance at Downtown Crossing Station.
That is the scene Boston Police District A-1 detectives are trying to piece together from a larceny at Boston's flagship downtown Macy's on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, according to a BPD community alert released this week.
Store loss prevention watched it happen and briefed responding officers, per the alert. Two male suspects in. Four Versace gift sets out. No chase. No confrontation. No consequences — at least not yet.

Police have released a description of only one of the two men, and it reads less like a wanted-suspect bulletin and more like a Halloween costume catalog. He is described as a light-skinned male in his 30s, wearing a black hoodie with a skull graphic on the hood, a black jacket with the words "LUXE LEGACY" printed across the back, black pants with a skeleton design, and black-and-red Jordan sneakers.
If you saw a man dressed like that walking through Downtown Crossing on April 21, BPD would like a word.
Detectives say they are still reviewing the facts and circumstances of the incident. A description of the second suspect has not been released.
