BOSTON — Five juveniles were arrested Monday afternoon at a Panera Bread in Dorchester after a confrontation with police that ended with tables being flipped, officers being shoved and kicked, and chaos erupting inside the restaurant.
According to Boston Police, officers have responded to the Panera at 8 Allstate Road more than fifteen times in 2026 alone — all for the removal of juveniles who, we're sure, were just there doing homework.
Multiple attempts to resolve the issue by district officers and the Boston Police School Unit have gone nowhere, police said.
Officers assigned to District C-6 responded to the location at around 3:37 p.m. after the manager called for yet another removal. A group of teenagers had been causing a disturbance and refused to leave when asked by staff.
Police arrived, told the group they needed to go, and the teens walked out. Officers informed them they were not permitted to re-enter or they'd be trespassing.
Then, as officers began to pull away, they watched the young rascals walk right back in through the front doors. The same group had already been removed earlier that day.
Officers went back inside and informed the group they were being detained. That's when things escalated.

A 17-year-old female from Roslindale stood up and shoved an officer. As additional officers attempted to take her into custody, she began thrashing, screaming, and locking her arms to resist arrest. Her actions set off the rest of the group — tables were flipped, screaming filled the restaurant, and the suspects began fighting with officers.
One suspect shoved and kicked officers. Another threw a table at them.
Two other suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
The five arrested and their charges:
— A 17-year-old female of Roslindale: Trespassing, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
— A 15-year-old female of Malden: Trespassing, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
— A 15-year-old female of Roxbury: Trespassing, Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
— A 14-year-old male of Dorchester: Trespassing.
— A 15-year-old female of Dorchester: Trespassing.
All five are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
With warmer weather on the way, there's no telling what out of control teens will do next — but Mass Daily News will be here to cover it.
