BOSTON — A rider inside MBTA's Prudential station was spat on and then punched repeatedly with a closed fist by an unknown man late last month, and nearly two weeks later, no one has been arrested.
Transit police released four surveillance photos of the suspect on Monday, asking the public for help putting a name to the face that's been captured on camera from multiple angles inside the station.

The attack happened at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 27. The suspect spat in the victim's face and then struck them multiple times with a closed fist before walking away, according to MBTA Transit Police.
It is the second violent assault at Prudential station in two days. Just 24 hours earlier, on February 26, a 71-year-old rider was viciously beaten at the same station. That suspect has not been caught either.
Prudential, a Green Line E branch stop beneath the Prudential Center in Back Bay, has become one of the most frequently cited stations in reports of violent crime across the MBTA system.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the surveillance photos can contact the MBTA Transit Police Criminal Investigations Unit at 617-222-1050. Tips can be submitted anonymously.
