BOSTON — He walked in wearing an Adidas tracksuit, a Gucci belt, and a gold chain around his neck.
He walked out with a stolen Canada Goose jacket under his arm.
And nobody stopped him.
The Prudential Center's Canada Goose — a store that at this point might as well install a revolving door for shoplifters — has been robbed again. Boston police are now releasing three surveillance photos of the latest suspect to help himself to the luxury retailer's merchandise and vanish into the city without consequence.

The theft happened around 2:34 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 — broad daylight, middle of the afternoon, shoppers everywhere. The suspect walked into the store, concealed a jacket, and strolled right out the front door. No chase. No confrontation. No consequences.
The surveillance images tell the story: a young man with dark curly hair and a mustache, decked out in designer gear from head to toe, browsing the racks like any other customer. Except most customers pay.

A store that can't catch a break
If you're keeping score at home, this is at least the fourth time the same Canada Goose location has been targeted.
Just weeks earlier, two suspects pulled the exact same move — walked in, grabbed what they wanted, walked out. Police released surveillance photos in that case too. Before that, a woman snatched $2,000 worth of parkas after asking staff to hold the jackets at the register, then bolted when employees turned their backs.
Same store. Same crime. Same outcome. Same plea from police for tips.
And it's not just Canada Goose. The entire Prudential Center has become something of a free shopping experience for anyone bold enough to try.

Earlier this month, three shoplifters were busted in a single hour at the mall — one of whom was carrying fentanyl and crack cocaine and assaulted a police officer during the arrest. In December, a serial shoplifter with seven active warrants was picked up near the Pru after allegedly stealing from Dick's Sporting Goods. He'd been strolling through Boston's busiest retail corridor for weeks despite being wanted on charges including larceny, credit card fraud, and receiving stolen property.
As Mass Daily News reported in December, Boston's once-bustling shopping streets are now plagued by theft — with high-end stores across Back Bay treated like personal wardrobes by emboldened criminals who face little in the way of consequences.
