Security cameras captured both suspects clearly as they made off with several hundred dollars worth of merchandise before fleeing toward Ruggles Street.
The theft is part of a growing epidemic plaguing Boston retailers. Just this week, as Mass Daily News reported, three separate shoplifters were arrested in a single hour at Boston's Prudential Center — one carrying fentanyl and crack cocaine who then assaulted a police officer.
Shoplifters have grown increasingly bold across the city, targeting everything from high-end stores in Back Bay to neighborhood businesses like the Snipes location in Roxbury. Store owners have been calling for increased police presence and stronger penalties as organized theft operations continue to plague retailers.
