BOSTON — ICE has arrested a confirmed Nortenos gang member with face tattoos, three felony convictions for illegal re-entry, and a rap sheet that reads like a greatest hits of violent crime — and he was walking around Massachusetts until Monday.

Miguel Angel Gonzalez-Navarro, a Mexican national, was nabbed by ICE Boston on Feb. 24, the agency announced Thursday. His criminal record is staggering.

According to ERO Boston, Gonzalez-Navarro's record includes:

  • Three felony convictions for illegal re-entry into the United States
  • Multiple assault and battery charges
  • False citizenship claims
  • Probation violation
  • False statement to a federal officer
  • Criminal threat with intent to terrorize
  • Amphetamine possession
  • Pending felony charges for carjacking and threat to injure in both California and Arizona

He was previously sentenced to 11 years in prison — and was apparently still here.

Law enforcement confirmed Gonzalez-Navarro is a member of the Nortenos, a violent street gang originating in Northern California. His gang affiliation was corroborated by intelligence and what ERO described as "visible gang-related face tattoos."

The arrest comes just days after the Boston City Council voted 9-4 to block the public from learning whether ignored ICE detainers involved actual criminals — a vote one councilor said was pressured by the mayor's office.

It also follows a pattern of ICE Boston arrests that have exposed the type of individuals sanctuary policies are shielding from federal immigration enforcement.

ERO Boston said it "remains committed to targeting individuals who pose a threat to the community."
