WARREN, Mass. — A 49-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting a man on a Phoenix apartment balcony in December has been arrested in a small Massachusetts town after an anonymous tip and cell phone tracking data led investigators nearly 2,500 miles across the country.

Keith Raheem Farrow was taken into custody on Feb. 17 in Warren, a town of roughly 5,000 about 70 miles west of Boston, according to Phoenix police. He faces a second-degree murder charge in Arizona and is awaiting extradition.

The shooting occurred on Dec. 12, 2025, shortly after midnight at the Allegro Apartments near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard in the Ahwatukee Foothills area of Phoenix. Officers responding to a shots-fired call found David "DJ" Lee Martin, 37, dead on a second-story balcony with at least one gunshot wound.

Several other people, including children, were still inside the apartment at the time and had to be rescued by ladder.

Investigators recovered a rifle from inside the Phoenix apartment that was later traced back to Farrow. Phone records revealed a number identified as his called Martin's cell three times in the 24 minutes before the shooting, according to 12 News.

An anonymous tip received on Jan. 30 identified Farrow as the shooter and stated the killing stemmed from a stolen AR-15 rifle taken the evening of the homicide. The tipster also said Farrow had fled to Massachusetts.

Using cellular tracking data and the tip, detectives traced Farrow to Warren. Massachusetts State Police served a search warrant at the home where Farrow had been staying and recovered a handgun magazine and several cartridges from a bedroom linked to him. Warren police warned residents on Facebook about a large police presence in the area, writing that it was "a State Police operation" and that there was "no threat to the public."

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also assisted in locating and apprehending Farrow.

What Comes Next

Farrow remains in custody and awaits extradition to Arizona to face the murder charge. Phoenix police have not disclosed whether Martin and Farrow knew each other prior to the shooting.
