SOUTH END—Officers from the Drug Control Unit of District D-4 have made a significant arrest in the ongoing battle against street-level drug dealing. Raiquan Turner, 29, of Woburn, was taken into custody on January 15, 2026, after police observed what they believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction.

Around 10:52 AM, officers spotted Turner conducting a suspicious exchange with another male. This prompted immediate action, as law enforcement suspected a drug deal was in progress. Following the transaction, Turner was seen walking away from the scene on Northampton Street towards Washington Street. A marked cruiser was dispatched, leading to his stop at the intersection of Washington Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

During a search following his arrest, authorities discovered fourteen plastic bags containing crack cocaine. The gravity of the situation is reflected in the charges he faces: distribution of a Class B substance and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance. Turner is expected to appear in Boston Municipal Court to answer these serious allegations, as the Drug Control Unit ramps up efforts to combat drug-related offenses in the South End.

This arrest raises questions about the ongoing drug issues plaguing the community, highlighting the need for continued vigilance and enforcement efforts by local law enforcement. The streets of the South End are under scrutiny as authorities work to dismantle the illegal drug trade.
