Witnesses watched in shock as the injured man was placed on a stretcher and wheeled out of the arena before being transported to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not released an update on his condition.
The disturbing incident unfolded amid what was otherwise a historic on-ice beatdown, as the Bruins destroyed the Rangers 10–2, delivering one of the most lopsided wins of the season. Boston poured it on with two hat tricks, turning the matinee matchup into a nightmare for New York as TD Garden roared.
Boston Police confirmed the incident remains under investigation and said the fall followed a fight, with one person taken into custody in connection with the incident. TD Garden officials said the matter has been turned over to law enforcement and that the arena is cooperating fully, but declined to comment further.
Sirens, flashing lights, and police activity briefly overtook the area around 100 Legends Way, cutting through the usual Saturday afternoon buzz inside one of Boston’s busiest sports venues.
This is a developing story.
