BOSTON — Police say a 54-year-old Dorchester man was arrested this week after allegedly trying to walk out of the Target at South Bay Plaza with 27 bottles of lotion stashed in a duffel bag.
Boston police say loss prevention stopped Long Tran around 4:49 p.m. on Dec. 30 after noticing the unusually well-stocked personal care haul. Authorities recovered all 27 bottles before Tran could make his exit.

According to police, Tran had been banned from the Target in November, yet returned anyway — apparently unfazed by his prior ban and undeterred in his mission to acquire what must be every batch of lotion the store had left.
Investigators also told police they believe Tran is suspected of stealing roughly $56,000 worth of merchandise from Target stores across multiple states, though they did not provide details on the timeline or exact locations of those alleged thefts.
Tran was charged with shoplifting by asportation over $250 and trespassing and is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
Target staff returned the lotion to inventory after the incident. The personal care aisle, however, may never look at moisturizer the same way again.
