NORFOLK COUNTY— Convicted killer Brian Walshe was handed a life sentence without the possibility of parole today, following a courtroom drama that exposed the horrifying reality of his crimes against wife Ana Walshe. Norfolk County Superior Court Judge Diane Freniere delivered the maximum sentences for lying to police and improperly disposing of a body, calling Walshe’s actions "barbaric."
Witness testimonies from Ana’s family painted a heartbreaking picture of the aftermath of her murder. Ana’s sister, Aleksandra Dimitrijevic, expressed the profound emptiness left in their lives, stating that Ana "knew me like no one ever will." With tears in her eyes, she shared how their mother suffers from severe depression, leaving the children to grow up "without their mother’s hand to hold."

In a chilling detail of the case, prosecutors revealed that Ana's body was likely in their home for 24 hours before Walshe began to dispose of it, all while their children were present. Assistant District Attorney Greg Connor emphasized the gravity of the situation, reminding the court that the same home was a place where the children lived.
Walshe’s defense attempted to argue against the harshness of the consecutive sentences, labeling them as "inhumane." Yet, Judge Freniere firmly articulated the trauma inflicted on Walshe's own children, firmly stating that "no sentence can bring her back." The courtroom echoed with the sentiments of a family forever shattered by violence, as justice was served in the most serious of ways.
