BOSTON—A shocking incident unfolded in the heart of the city when a Boston Police detail officer was dragged by a vehicle during a traffic dispute gone awry. The chaos erupted around 9:00 PM on a recent Saturday evening near Beacon Street and Spruce Street, as police sought to manage a minor vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, the officer discovered a parked car that had been struck. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as Avagadra Lipson, 27, of New York, allegedly refused to exchange insurance information with the victims. In a brazen move, Lipson reportedly released her vehicle's brake and, despite the officer's commands to halt, she shifted into drive, dragging the officer along for several yards before he managed to extricate himself. Authorities noted that the officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Following the brutal encounter, a description of Lipson and her vehicle was broadcasted to units in District A-1. Officers quickly located her traveling on Cambridge Street and initiated a traffic stop, activating their emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle was eventually stopped at 3 Center Plaza, where officers attempted to remove Lipson from the vehicle. Video footage from the scene may reveal the intense struggle, as she allegedly resisted arrest, even kicking one officer in the chest during the tumultuous ordeal.
Lipson now faces a slew of serious charges, including:
- Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
- Motor Vehicle Operator Refuse to Identify Self
- Resist Arrest
- Leaving the Scene of Property Damage
This alarming case raises questions about road safety and officer protocols during such traffic incidents. With Lipson set to appear in Boston Municipal Court, the community watches closely.
Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Boston Police Department.
