DORCHESTER—A 38-year-old Dorchester woman has been arrested in connection with a brazen armed robbery that left the victim reeling from a vicious attack. Elena O’Brien allegedly struck the victim in the head with a glass bottle and then put him in a headlock during the shocking incident.

Around 6:25 PM, officers from District C-11 were approached by the victim, who described the terrifying assault. According to police reports, the swift response of the officers led to the apprehension of O’Brien near Columbia Road and Boston Street, where she was handcuffed on the spot.

O’Brien now faces serious charges: Armed Robbery to wit Glass Bottle, Receiving Stolen Property over $1,200, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon to wit glass bottle, and Strangulation or Suffocation. Additionally, police revealed that she had an outstanding warrant from Roxbury District Court for Burglary, Trespass, and Breaking and Entering for Misdemeanor. The scene was chaotic, marked by flashing lights and the sounds of law enforcement ensuring the area was safe.

This alarming case has raised concerns about safety in the community, especially with such a violent act occurring in broad daylight. O’Brien is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court, where she will face the full extent of the law for her alleged actions.
