MILFORD — A masked suspect in a Ghostface-style disguise was caught on surveillance video storming a Milford gas station Sunday night, flashing what appeared to be a handgun and fleeing with stolen cigarettes before officers tracked him down in a rapid, town-wide search.

The chaos erupted at Riverside Gas on South Main Street just after 7:20PM, when a clerk dialed 911 reporting that a white male in a black mask and grey shirt had tried to rip open the cash register. When that failed, he grabbed several packs of cigarettes and bolted.

Patrol officers arrived within minutes and quickly determined the incident was an armed robbery involving a firearm. As the dramatic security footage shows, the suspect moved behind the counter, gesturing with the weapon before fleeing out the door.

By 7:43PM, the Milford Police Detective Bureau, K-9 teams, the Special Operations Team, and Massachusetts State Police K-9 units were sweeping the streets in a coordinated hunt for both the suspect and the gun.

At around 8:10PM, officers spotted a man walking on Green Street who matched the description in the video. After an on-scene investigation, police arrested 34-year-old Milford resident Adam Busuito.

Chief Robert Tusino praised his officers’ fast work, saying the department “brought this violent crime to such a quick resolution” and vowed that anyone who endangers the community “will be tracked down and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The weapon — a black Walther P22 6MM BB gun — was discovered discarded behind Honey Dew Donuts. K-9 Titan also located a black Ghostface-style mask and clothing consistent with those worn in the video.

Busuito was already wanted on an outstanding warrant for armed robbery out of Boston District Court. He was held without bail overnight and is expected to be arraigned this morning at Milford District Court.

He now faces a long list of charges including armed and masked robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, attempted larceny, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, trespass, threat to commit a crime, and assault and battery on a police officer.
