NORWOODâ Seven teenagers, ages 13 to 15, were nabbed by police following dramatic police pursuits involving stolen vehicles that spanned several Massachusetts towns. The chaos erupted just before 2 AM on Saturday when a sharp-eyed officer spotted two cars making an illegal U-turn on Route 1 North near Dean Street after leaving a gas station.
When the officer attempted to pull them over, both vehicles sped off. It was later revealed that the red Lincoln sedan and the blue Infiniti SUV had been reported stolen and were allegedly linked to a shoplifting incident at the gas station, according to Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden.

The pursuit intensified as officers chased the Infiniti along Route 1, which led them into Westwood and Dedham. The stolen SUV ultimately crashed near Washington Street, sending three of its occupants fleeing on foot. Two juvenile females were found nearby and taken to Boston Medical Center with minor injuries, while a third passenger was detained at the scene.
Meanwhile, the Lincoln was spotted, prompting another police chase southbound. As the pursuit reached the Walpole-Foxborough line, it was called off, but not before Foxborough police deployed spike strips to deflate the vehicle's tires. The Lincoln crashed into a guardrail, and all its occupants were taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
In total, seven juveniles were detainedâfour females and three malesâsix from Boston and one from Worcester. The dramatic sequences of events have raised questions about teen crime in the area and the escalating incidents involving stolen vehicles.
