DORCHESTERāA dramatic foot chase unfolded as a Dorchester Officer apprehended a suspect allegedly armed with a staggering cache of illegal drugs. The incident ignited just after 3 PM when officers responded to reports of a possible armed robbery at the Bodega on E 8th Street.
Witnesses say the suspect, identified as Dempsey Allen, 28, was spotted entering the store wearing a bandana over his face and gripping his waistband. Upon noticing the police, he fled the scene, prompting an intense pursuit through the neighborhood. Officers ordered him to stop, but he continued to evade capture, eventually entering a backyard on Knowlton Street where he was finally subdued and handcuffed.

Boston Police Department officials shared these images with the public.
A search incident to Allen's arrest yielded a shocking 68 grams of Fentanyl, 29 grams of Crystal Meth, and 5 grams of Crack Cocaine, along with a scale coated in white powder residue. To make matters worse, officers also recovered $1,124 in cash from the suspect, suggesting a deeper involvement in drug trafficking.
Police records indicate Allen had multiple outstanding warrants, including charges for Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery, and Trafficking of Cocaine. He is expected to face serious charges in South Boston District Court, including Trafficking of Fentanyl Over 36 Grams, Less Than 100 Grams, and Possession to Distribute Class B, Subsequent Offense, among others police say.
The swift actions of the Dorchester Police highlight both the dangers officers face on the streets and the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the community. This latest arrest underscores the urgent need for vigilance in addressing crime as the neighborhood continues to grapple with its impacts.
