DORCHESTERā A major drug bust has rocked the neighborhood, as law enforcement apprehended a notorious career criminal with two illegal firearms and a hefty haul of crack cocaine.
On Thursday, October 16, 2025, officers from the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury) executed a series of search warrants at 50 Columbia Road, Dorchester, leading to the arrest of Lawrence Chaney Jr., 39. The raid yielded a shocking 178 grams of crack cocaine, two loaded firearmsā a Walther PP2 and a PK380ā both with defaced serial numbers, along with ammunition and drug paraphernalia.

Chaney has been charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of defacement of a firearm serial number, trafficking of Class B drugs, and possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card. The police revealed that Chaney is classified as an Armed Career Criminal Level II, raising serious concerns about his previous offenses.
Authorities reported that during the operation, officers also recovered a digital scale, drug packaging material, and approximately $105 in cash, underscoring the scale of his alleged drug operation.
This arrest marks a significant victory for the Boston Police Department as they continue to combat drug trafficking and gun violence in the city. The community watches closely as Chaney is set to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court, eager for justice and safety in their neighborhoods.
