BOSTONā A Dominican national, with a notorious past in drug trafficking, has been sentenced to a staggering 10 years behind bars for peddling fentanyl in Massachusetts. Luis Alberto German-Peguero, also known as āAlberto Chirry,ā 35, pleaded guilty to serious charges including conspiracy and distribution of over 400 grams of fentanyl, as well as illegal reentry into the United States after being previously deported.
Federal authorities revealed that German-Peguero was apprehended after he sold a shocking five kilograms of the deadly substance to an undercover agent in Peabody on March 22, 2023. This arrest was part of a larger investigation led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which focuses on dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening the U.S. Prosecutors say this case underscores the ongoing battle against the opioid crisis.

Prior to this conviction, German-Peguero was removed from the country following a drug trafficking conviction in Plymouth Superior Court in November 2020, serving over a year in prison. His blatant disregard for the law continued when he unlawfully reentered the United States.

Stearns, will be followed by five years of supervised release, and German-Peguero is set for deportation upon completing his prison term.
