DORCHESTER—A routine traffic stop turned dramatic early Tuesday morning when Boston Police officers arrested two suspects and seized two firearms from their vehicle. The incident unfolded around 12:42 a.m. near the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Pasadena Road, according to the official police blotter.
While patrolling the area, a Sergeant noticed a vehicle with a defective brake light and initiated a stop. Upon making contact with the occupants, officers observed the rear passenger hunching over suspiciously, prompting a further investigation. Officers ordered all occupants out of the vehicle and conducted a pat frisk.
During this search, police discovered two firearms stashed inside the car. One was identified as a Smith & Wesson SD9 VE, loaded with one round in the chamber and seven in the magazine, which has a capacity of sixteen rounds. This firearm also bore signs of tampering, with its serial number scratched off. The second weapon was a Deterrence Dispensed Civilized Defense CDD 17.2, also loaded, but alarmingly, it lacked a serial number entirely.
