The suspect was arrested following the tracking of the stolen car, which was located in a residential area.

BOSTON— A terrifying carjacking unfolded at a busy intersection as an Uber driver was allegedly attacked and nearly strangled by a suspect in a brazen act of violence. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM on November 6th, 2025, at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave. and Columbus Ave.

According to the official police blotter, the victim, visibly distressed, recounted how she had picked up the suspect in Cambridge. As they approached the intersection, she felt a cord tighten around her neck, obstructing her breathing. Reports indicate she fought back fiercely, managing to escape the vehicle and scream for help while the suspect moved to the driver's seat.

With the victim's phone still in the stolen car, officers tracked its location to Stanwood St. and Blue Hill Ave., where they intercepted the vehicle. The suspect, identified as Christopher Dawkins, 24, of Dorchester, was apprehended without further incident. He now faces serious charges including Carjacking, Strangulation/Suffocation, Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle.

The alarming details of this assault highlight the dangers faced by rideshare drivers and the urgency for safety measures in the city. As the case makes its way to Boston Municipal Court, residents are left to wonder how such violent crimes can unfold so brazenly in broad daylight.
