WALTHAM — Mike Kennealy is entering November with financial momentum, reporting more than $1.2 million cash on hand — the most among Republican contenders in the governor’s race.
The campaign brought in $272,500 in October, a total that includes Kennealy’s own contribution and reflects what the campaign calls “steady month-to-month growth” and widening grassroots support across Massachusetts.

Kennealy said he’s “grateful for the generous support from across Massachusetts,” adding that the early fundraising shows voters are ready to “return power to the people — not the political insiders” and that conversations with residents statewide signal “it’s time for a change.”
Campaign manager Ben Hincher described the energy as “palpable,” citing activity at Republican Town Committee meetings, community events, and discussions with business leaders. Hincher said voters are responding to Kennealy’s “vision for a stronger, more affordable Massachusetts,” and argued that his background in business, education, and state government positions him as “the only Republican capable of defeating Maura Healey in 2026.”

According to the campaign, the growing base of donors and volunteers is setting up a statewide operation designed to deliver “strong, accountable leadership” heading into next November.
With the race still in its early phase, cash-on-hand remains one of the clearest indicators of campaign strength — and Kennealy’s team says the latest figures show he’s well-positioned as the field develops.
