BARNSTABLE — Behind manicured lawns and million-dollar Cape Cod homes, police say a suspected cocaine and fentanyl trafficker was quietly operating — until a multi-agency operation shut him down.
Eric Brando, 33, was arrested this week after a months-long investigation by Barnstable Police detectives working with the DEA Cape Cod Resident Office. The Cape Cod Regional SWAT Team and K-9 units from Yarmouth, Mashpee, and Sandwich assisted in the takedown.

Authorities say Brando was supplying fentanyl and cocaine in Barnstable and surrounding communities, funneling hard drugs into one of the wealthiest corners of Massachusetts — a region better known for waterfront estates and golf clubs than narcotics raids.

After Brando was taken into custody on October 30, officers executed search warrants in Osterville and Mashpee, turning up cocaine and what investigators described as a significant amount of cash tied to drug sales.
Brando is charged with distribution of fentanyl and trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, a serious felony threshold. He was arraigned Friday in Barnstable District Court and ordered held without bail pending a November 7 dangerousness hearing.
The Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
