Unregistered gun and bullets found in arrest of Dorchester robbery suspect

DORCHESTER — A Dorchester man is facing multiple gun charges after police investigating an armed robbery arrested two suspects and recovered a loaded firearm late Monday night.

Officers responded around 9:16 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery at 323 Washington Street, where witnesses described a man in a black ski mask and dark clothing. A short time later, officers from District C-11 spotted two men walking on nearby Harvard Street, one matching the suspect’s description.

When officers approached, both men ran into the driveway of 222 Harvard Street. After a brief chase, police apprehended both individuals. One of them, identified as 26-year-old Ezequiel Rodriguez of Dorchester, was taken into custody.

During a search of the area, officers recovered a Glock 17 9mm pistol with a large-capacity magazine capable of holding up to 31 rounds. The weapon was loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition.

Rodriguez faces several charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and unlawful possession of ammunition without an FID card.

The second man was released pending further investigation.

Police said the investigation remains active.
