BOSTON — A pro-Palestine mob reportedly turned downtown into chaos Tuesday night, blocking Tremont Street, chanting “BPD is KKK,” and pepper-spraying a Boston police officer during a volatile confrontation steps from the Common.

According to live scanner traffic, officers urgently called for backup as the situation spiraled near Park and Tremont Streets. Dispatchers ordered citywide units, flex cuffs, and bike cops to the scene after an officer was reportedly struck with pepper spray.

Witnesses described flashing blue lights cutting through the night as police scrambled to regain control. Protesters waving Palestinian flags and shouting anti-police slogans reportedly refused to disperse, with one suspect bolting down Avery Street before being tackled and cuffed.

The unrest began after a demonstration marking the two-year anniversary of the Hamas terror attack on Israel, which had drawn several hundred activists earlier in the evening. As tensions flared, scanner traffic reported “multiple arrests” and heavy police presence throughout the downtown area.

Traffic ground to a halt around the Common, with police reportedly sealing off Tremont and Park as emergency vehicles struggled to move through. One transmission described “crowd hostility” and officers deploying bikes to push back the line.

Boston police have not yet confirmed the total number of arrests or injuries. The department is expected to release an official statement later tonight.

The confrontation marks Boston’s second major street disturbance in just three days — following Sunday’s South End riot, when a police cruiser was torched during a massive car takeover.
