BOSTON — Chaos hit one of Boston’s fanciest blocks when a woman stormed a Back Bay CVS, attacked a security guard, and fled into the crowd — all in broad daylight.

Police say it happened around 5:13 p.m. Thursday at the 587 Boylston Street CVS, steps from Copley Square. The suspect, a Black woman in her 30s wearing a red jacket and white shorts, allegedly grabbed merchandise and punched her way out after being stopped by staff.

She vanished before officers arrived, leaving behind a shaken worker and stunned shoppers.

The case is being investigated as assault and larceny, and police are asking anyone with tips to call 1-800-494-TIPS or text “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
