BOSTON — Afternoon bloodshed rocked East Boston Wednesday when a person was reportedly stabbed just steps from East Boston High School — even as Mayor Michelle Wu keeps telling residents Boston is “the safest big city in America.”
Police rushed to 109 Falcon Street just before 2:00 p.m., where a victim lay wounded as Boston EMS scrambled to treat them on the pavement. Their condition was not immediately known, but the violence shattered any illusion of safety in the middle of the school day.

The stabbing happened in plain daylight, in a neighborhood where kids were still filing out of class — a jarring contrast to Wu’s sunny proclamations that the city is secure. Parents and students were left shaken, wondering how “the safest big city in America” could see such carnage so close to a schoolyard.
