BOSTON — A Dorchester man’s arrest spiraled into a humiliating jailhouse discovery after police say a taped plastic bag filled with crack cocaine was uncovered during booking.
On Friday, September 19, 2025, around 1:16 p.m., members of the Boston Police District C-6 Drug Control Unit, assisted by the Citywide Drug Control Unit and the FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force, executed a warrant for Jose Mendes Rodrigues, 25. During the intake search, officers say they found a taped plastic bag concealed on his body. Inside, they recovered approximately 33 grams of crack cocaine, already divided into 31 smaller baggies. The stash burst open during the search, revealing the drugs Rodrigues allegedly tried to keep hidden.
Rodrigues was booked and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of distribution of Class B drugs.
