WILMINGTON, Mass. — A routine day at Wilmington’s FedEx hub exploded into a major drug bust when staff discovered the contents of a damaged package and alerted police — who then seized more than 15 kilos of cocaine worth over $1 million.

What started as an ordinary shipment turned into cartel-level cargo. Bricks of pure cocaine, tightly wrapped and disguised as everyday parcels, were pulled off the belt and hauled away before they could ever hit Massachusetts streets.

Police Chief Brian Pupa hailed the find as a “significant blow” to traffickers, calling it proof that vigilance can stop dangerous drugs before they poison communities. Officers are staying tight-lipped about the details — refusing to say who sent it, who was meant to pick it up, or whether Wilmington has been quietly sitting on the narcotics superhighway for months.

No arrests have been made, leaving a cloud of unanswered questions hanging over the suburb. But one thing is certain: the sight of police hauling cocaine bricks out of a FedEx facility has jolted Wilmington — a stark reminder that even the most ordinary-looking package can conceal a million dollars’ worth of poison.
