BOSTON — A once-trusted Boston Children’s Hospital doctor has been unmasked as a sick pervert after admitting he traded child sex abuse images in twisted online chat rooms for “dads, uncles, and babysitters.”

Christopher Sheerer, 37, who once held prestigious fellowships at Boston Children’s and Johns Hopkins, pleaded guilty to child pornography and child exploitation charges in federal court. Prosecutors say the disgraced pediatric anesthesiology fellow wasn’t just hoarding vile images — he was actively uploading material involving a child he knew in order to gain access to depraved online groups.

Investigators revealed the group required men to “prove” they had access to children by uploading nude photos of kids under 13 next to handwritten signs. Sheerer allegedly provided just that, securing entry into a cesspool of predators.

When feds raided his Boston home last year, they uncovered multiple devices crammed with horrific material — including images of infants. Forensic analysis showed Sheerer was knee-deep in dozens of chats swapping child pornography with other degenerates.

The pervert doctor has been rotting in federal custody since July 2024 and now faces decades behind bars. The charges carry mandatory minimum sentences of 5 to 15 years, with potential prison time stretching up to 30 years.

Prosecutors slammed Sheerer as a danger to society, underscoring that even the “best and brightest” medical pedigrees can conceal monsters. His sentencing is set for December 18.
