LOWELL â A barber at Professional Barbers of Lowell has been axed after posting a grotesque Facebook comment mocking the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Quinn Dillon sneered on Facebook: âCan liberals start learning how to aim? What is so hard about a headshot on a sitting target?â

The comment came after Kirk was fatally shot during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. Police later arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, who allegedly confessed to a family member and was linked to the killing by video evidence.

The backlash exploded online when Massachusetts Republican figure Chester Tam highlighted Dillonâs words on X, calling him a âsick individualâ and slamming the shop for hypocrisy over its earlier political dress-code controversy.
Owner Ty Rutledge swiftly condemned the Facebook post and cut ties with Dillon.
âThe comments our employee made on his personal social account about the horrific act of violence in Utah were extremely out of line,â Rutledge said. âWe vehemently oppose any joking or celebration of a murder of any human. The employee has been talked to and it has been decided he will no longer be employed with our shop.â

Rutledge noted the shopâs goal has always been to remain politically neutral. Earlier this year, he faced blowback for banning MAGA clothing but later clarified the policy applied to all political symbols to avoid sparking conflict inside the shop.

Now, with one barber out of a job, Rutledge says the message is clear: politics and violent rhetoric have no place in his chairs.
