The man accused of assassinating conservative hero Charlie Kirk has been identified as Tyler Robinson, 22, a suspected rooftop sniper now in custody after his own father reportedly alerted authorities.
Kirk, just 31, was gunned down while speaking to students at Utah Valley University, a shocking political hit that silenced one of America’s fiercest young conservative voices. The fatal shot came from more than 200 yards away, fired with a high-powered bolt-action rifle, and ripped through Kirk’s neck as horrified students looked on.

Robinson did not fall to a SWAT raid or FBI dragnet but was instead turned in through his family, according to reports, with a minister tied to law enforcement helping arrange the handoff. His arrest has ended the immediate manhunt but raised even more questions about how a young man ended up accused of carrying out such a brazen act of political violence.
Investigators say Robinson left a trail of evidence — surveillance footage, palm prints, footprints, and the rifle itself — tying him to the rooftop perch where he allegedly fired the fatal shot. President Donald Trump confirmed Friday that the suspect was in custody “with a high degree of certainty.”
For conservatives across the country, the name Tyler Robinson is now forever linked to the darkest of crimes. Kirk’s assassination has already been compared to America’s most haunting political killings, a targeted strike against a man who dared to speak his mind. His voice may have been silenced, but his fight lives on in the movement he helped build.
