DORCHESTER—Dorchester was thrown into chaos Tuesday afternoon when two gunmen on a scooter opened fire on Bowdoin Street, shooting a man in the neck in a brazen daylight attack.
The gunfire erupted just after 5 p.m. near Bowdoin and Olney streets. Two men were seen fleeing on a scooter toward Geneva Avenue as police raced to the scene.

According to radio traffic, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck before being transported to the hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
Within minutes, Bowdoin Street was transformed into a crime scene. Yellow tape stretched across the block as officers marked shell casings on the pavement. A second investigation zone was established around a car tied to the victim, which was taped off as evidence.

The shooting added yet another jolt of violence to a neighborhood already battered by gunfire this summer, with residents left watching as their streets once again turned into an active police scene.
Boston Police said no arrests had been made as of Tuesday evening. The gunmen remain at large after vanishing into Dorchester’s side streets.
