BOSTON — A Sunday afternoon exploded into chaos on Harrison Avenue as police stormed a Roxbury apartment and hauled out 45-year-old Jorge Ramirez, accused of stockpiling cocaine, crack, and cash in a secret stash house.
Detectives from South Boston, Brighton/Allston, and Downtown had been circling Ramirez for weeks before finally making their move. At 1:48 p.m., the surveillance ended and the takedown began. Ramirez stepped outside and was seized in seconds — the end of the line for a man police allege was moving serious weight across Boston.

Inside the apartment, investigators uncovered a haul designed to shock: 62 grams of cocaine stuffed in a kitchen cabinet, another 60 grams of crack in the same spot, and three more bags of crack tucked into candles. Alongside the drugs, police seized an undisclosed pile of cash, a scale, gloves, plastic baggies, and multiple cell phones — the tell-tale signs of a full-blown distribution operation.
Now Ramirez is staring down a trafficking charge for more than 100 grams of cocaine, a heavyweight felony that could lock him away for years. The arrest sends a thunderous message across Boston’s neighborhoods: the drug war isn’t hiding in shadows — it’s playing out in broad daylight, in kitchens, in cabinets, even in candles.
