Mayor Michelle Wu has chosen criminals over cops. This week, she vowed to punish any Boston police officer who dares share information with federal immigration authorities — even as ICE prepares to flood the city with agents in a major crackdown.
On WBUR today, Wu declared that “any violation of those rules would result in discipline.” Translation: protect the public by helping ICE, and City Hall will come after you.

Acting ICE director Todd Lyons says plenty of BPD officers are already quietly feeding intel to keep Boston safe. Wu flat-out denies it, but her warning sends a chilling message to the rank-and-file: back up ICE and risk your badge.
The so-called “Boston Trust Act” — Wu’s political shield for illegal immigrants — forbids cops from cooperating on civil immigration enforcement. Wu claims it makes the city safer. But in reality, it ties the hands of Boston police and protects dangerous criminal aliens who should be behind bars.
With federal agents ready to sweep the city, Wu isn’t standing with the cops or the residents they protect. She’s standing in the way — punishing her own officers while shielding criminals from the law.
