BOSTON — A quiet Roxbury block transformed into a crime scene overnight as gunfire tore through Holworthy Street, leaving shell casings glittering under a haze of blue police lights.
The crack of rapid shots shattered the stillness just after 1 a.m. At least three parked cars — one with Florida plates — were punctured by stray bullets. Officers arriving at the scene found fragments of metal on the asphalt and more than 20 spent casings scattered across the street.

Neighbors, jolted awake, watched from behind curtains as cruisers boxed off the block, yellow tape sealing it from end to end. The street pulsed with sirens and flashing lights, an eerie glow on brick walls and broken glass.
No suspect has been named. No victim has been located. What remains is the wreckage of another Boston shooting — cars riddled, casings piled, and residents left shaken in their homes.
Police continue to investigate.
